I am just writing to let everyone know I am now on the listserv!

Guess me too :)

Those of you who attended the international camp this August probably
already know me. For those of you who do not know me, my name is Arlo
Devlin-Brown and I'm working as part of a team of American debate
consultants for the Karl Popper Debate Program.

I cannot say that I was in the Lithuanian team this year, but I was there and
I also was in debate camp in Tata two years ago. By the way, I am glad and
proud that this program carries the name of Sir Karl Popper. Good to know his
ideas are remembered.

Hopefully, people will find this listserv really useful and we'll be able to
have some good debate discussions. I'm interested in knowing what topics
you have been debating recently and I'm always happy to discuss any
questions about debate. So please, send lots of e-mail to the listserv!

:) We in Lithuania actually have some experience in debating via e-mail,
we even have made up some rules so the debates don't get too abusive
sometimes. I suppose we may arrange so that this list is subscibed to our
list, or that at least what goes on here is cross-posted in Lihuania's debate list.

I am afraid that we have not been to novel with selecting topics - and some
international experience/help could be appreciated I suppose. I am currently
involved in 2 debate clubs as debator, and some fresh air is indeed necessary.

Topics? 'Human aid stops development' (don't ask me, I didn't think of it. )

I also hope to hear from some of the many students and teachers I met in
Celakovice. If people don't have e-mail but are interested in contacting
me, my addres is 6111 HLS Holmes Mail Center, Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA. My
phone number is (617) 493-9157.

Anyway, in addition to my responsibilites with the debate program, I am also
doing my graduate studies at Harvard Law School. So far, I'm finding it
very interesting and still managing to find time to have some fun in Boston.

Well... I am studying politics/international affairs at Vilnius University,
and ALSO find some free time for fun. :)

And about debates here: I think we could do some quite interesting stuff
internationally, and so I announce I am ready to accept any challenge to
debate in cyberspace. No rules. Just be kind, don't gang up on me. All free to
take part, however.

--sincerely yours, sarunas.
