The Electronic Publishing Development Program promotes digital content development, and use of electronic information and communications, in countries in transition. The program was launched in 1996. EPDP works in two main areas, supporting the national foundations of the Soros network in their electronic publication and information activities, and conceiving and co-ordinating large projects across the network. EPDP is one of the Information Programs of the OSI - the other programs are the Internet Program, the Network Library Program, and the Center for Publishing Development. The OSI's Information Sub-Board sets policy and direction guidelines for these programs, and reviews activities and progress in its quarterly meetings. |
