all over the world. In modern society there's a great demand
for presenting cultural
heritage through modern information technologies and
interactive
media. Cultural heritage has to be available to the mass
audience not
only in Lithuania but in Europe as well. Culture and history
has
to have a chance to be learned and modeled through Internet
or in usage of CD, etc.
In mid 1998 the Institute of Cultural Heritage was established
by Ministry of Culture, Lithuanian Republic. The main tasks
and activities are such as follows:
(1)Investigation of Lithuanian cultural heritage;
(2)Propaganda and information of mass audience on cultural
heritage;
(3)Applying modern interactive information technologies in
investigation and preservation of cultural heritage. In that case
the Institute of Cultural Heritage has a part finance support
from Ministry of Culture, Lithuanian Republic.
Key products The Institute of Cultural Heritage was established in mid
1998.
In that period of time: (1) there was created a part of
Lithuanian information system of cultural heritage. Cultural
heritage's information system connects all the main cultural
institution in Lithuania.
In the future the system will be supplemented with an
interactive multimedia to complete the information system of
tourism in Lithuania and possible education programmes.
(2) there was published 11 books on cultural heritage.
(3) tere was created the Programme of Live History. The main
aim of the Programme is to introduce, educate mass
audience with cultural heritage in usage of modern
information technologies,
interactive media.

Its primary aim is to collect and preserve all publications
