About EPSUThe Education Program Support Unit (EPSU) assists national foundations, at their request, in strengthening existing programs and developing new programs in primary and secondary education. EPSU aims to facilitate cooperation and cross-fertilization of programs between national foundations; to identify professional and technical resources for foundation use; to help develop partnerships and cost-sharing with other donors; and to assist in monitoring and evaluating program impact. EPSU was formed in mid-1995 as a response to requests by national foundation education program staff for support in strategic and program development, information exchange, and technical expertise and materials. EPSU consults with national foun dation staff, executive directors, board members, and education staff of regional programs at OSI-New York www.soros.org/youth.html and at OSI-Budapest to understand the needs and priorities of the foundations so it can provide appropriate support services to the Soros foundations network in primary and secondary education.
