SUSAN RONA, DIRECTOR
Susan is a Hungarian born educator from Canada, and she came to Budapest in September,
1994 at the request of the Soros Foundation-Hungary. She helped to develop programs for
Roma, and she was a member of a team of experts designing and implementing training
programs for teachers and administrators in Hungary. After one year with the Foundation
she joined EPSU as a Senior Educator. Her role with EPSU has been to support the
development of educational leadership, Roma education and the development of programs for
dropouts in the Soros foundationsnetwork. Susan has been director of EPSU since January,
1997.

EGLE PRANCKUNIENE, VISITING FELLOW
Egle, who has been Director of the Transformation of Education Program in Lithuania came
to Budapest in January, 1997 for one-year Visiting Fellowship with EPSU. Egle concentrates
on assisting foundations in developing programs that aim to improve schools and
educational leadership in which she has three years of experience from her work in
Lithuania.

PETER RADO, SPECIAL ADVISOR
Peter comes to EPSU after many years of experience in education in Hungary. He has served
as Director for Minority Education of the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Education, and
is a member of the Soros Foundation-Hungary Executive Board. He works with EPSU in
supporting the development of national Soros foundations' education programs to promote
school success for Roma children and minority education issues.

HEATHER ILIFF, PROGRAM MANAGER
Heather has worked for the Soros foundations network since May 1992 when she started as a
Budget Assistant at Central European University. Heather coordinated the special education
project for Sarajevo from 1994-1995, and began working with EPSU when its office opened in
Spring, 1995. She is responsible for assisting national foundations in strategy
development, and she edits the Open Society Education Update.

NANCY GREEN, PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Nancy has worked with EPSU since June, 1995 when she was hired as a consultant to manage
the Education for an Open Society Conference. She has extensive experience in Human Rights
and Civics Education, and is especially interested in programs for marginalized and
minority populations. She is responsible for the School Success for Roma Children priority
area of EPSU.

EVA BADAR, PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Eva has extensive experience in coordinating EPSU conferences and workshops as well as
providing support to the School Improvement and Roma priority areas.

ANDREA FELD, PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Andrea is responsible for supporting the Foundation Strategy and Instructional Improvement
priority areas by organizing study visits and monitoring requests from national
foundations. She also maintains the EPSU web pages, databases and mailing lists.
