RTA - Roma Teaching Assistants/Family Coordinators

The introduction of the position of a Roma Teaching Assistant is based on the necessity of providing the guarantee for the right of Roma children to receive quality education, and is a result of the democratization of school educational practices in Central and Eastern Europe. The establishment of such a role in schools assists the adaptation of the educational services to the specific needs of the Roma community. It also provides for the effective involvement of Roma children in the educational system through developing their identity and through integrating them into an appropriate school environment.
