The
percentage of Roma schools is unusually low - probably
below 5%. There is one school in the region with predominantly
Roma pupils (Marchevo village, Gurmen municipality).
The Gurmen municipality wants to shut down the school
so that Roma children can be integrated. Relief schools
and kindergartens in the region are full with Roma
children. Characteristic for the region is the great
number of Roma teachers - 8, as well as the adequately
organized outdoor activities for most of the children.
