Roma
pupils comprise less than 10 % of all pupils. There
are very few "Roma schools" in the region;
in Sevlievo, in Roma quarter, a school was intentionally
not built, so as to have Roma children spread among
the different regions. The main educational problem
is the poor level of Bulgarian language. Roma leave
school to emigrate in Greece, and Turkey, or to engage
in seasonal work.
