Roma are around 10 % of the population. The majority have settled in the municipalities of Krumovgrad and Kurdjali. The major problem is low motivation to study. Class attendance is low and the core knowledge requirements are not fulfilled. Roma consider themselves of Turkish origin. Social anomalies are observed in places: children cannot talk. In the relief schools Roma children are healthy - often orphans or very poor. These kids comprise no more than 20% of Roma children.
