Roma
pupils comprise around 15-20 % of the pupils; in primary
schools I -IV grades, the percentage goes up to 25
%.
The majority of Roma pupils live in the municipalities
of Mezdra, Biala Slatina, Krivodol, Roman. Most of
them consider themselves Bulgarians, although they
do not speak good Bulgarian due to the lack of family
education. Unemployment hits 90 % of Roma. The richer
families leave Roma neighbourhoods, and the misery
of extremely low-standard schools.
