The FM Alert is an electronic bulletin published by the Forced Migration Projects of the Open Society Institute, containing breaking news and updates on people, places and events that concern refugees and displaced persons. It compliements the in-depth stories featured in the bimonthly newsletter Forced Migration Monitor. FM Alert's electronic format keeps pace with developments, supplying information in a timely fashion on a wide variety of topics. | |||||

FM Alert provides the international community with early warning of the forced movements of people, and suggestions of ways to ameliorate migration or refugee emergencies. The bulletin concentrates on developments in the former Soviet Union, the former Yugoslavia, Haiti and Cuba. | |||||
