In July 1995, the Forced Migration Projects published the first of a series of special reports on the problems of population displacement in the former Soviet Union. Entitled Forced Migration: Repatriation in Georgia, the report examines the 1994 UNHCR plan to repatriate displaced persons, particularly Abkhazians, in the Republic of Georgia, and seeks to draw lessons from the difficulties encountered in promoting the return of displaced persons. |
