    (call for papers)

    Dear colleague,

    the Tomsk State Pedagogical University has the pleasure of inviting you to the XXII-nd Annual Conference "Dulson’s readings" dedicated to the 100 Birthday - Anniversary of Professor Andreas Dulson, to be held in Tomsk, Russia, from 19 to 21 June 2000. The conference will be hosted by the Institute for Foreign Languages, Laboratory of Siberian Languages.

    The general theme of the conference is:

    "Comparative-historical and typological studies of languages and cultures".

    The main problems for discussion:

    1. Remote relationship of languages and cultures ( formulated by A.P. Dulson).

    2. Problems of documentation of endangered languages and cultures.

    3. Comparative-historical studies.

    4. Typological studies of languages and cultures.

    5. Methods of complex study of ethnogenesis.

    6. Morphology and phonology of languages in Siberia and regions close to it.

    7. Problems of lexicography and creating educational literature for national schools and classes.

    8. Problems of foreign and national languages teaching.

    9. The data of comparative-historical and typological studies of languages and cultures in teaching.

                    The conference fee includes a papersafe document wallet with a program, addresses and folders. Payment should be made in roubles (50) by the registration.

                    The deadline for submission of papers is 1 November 1999. Paper should not exceed 5 pages PC Word in 12-point type, 1,5 interval.

                    A second circular with provisional programme and further details will be sent out early 2000.

                    Colleagues who wish to attend the conference should furnish the Organizing Committee with the theme of the paper and information about the participant (name, institution, position, date of the burth, postal address, e-mail) to the following address:
