    Education and scholarly career:

    1971-1976 Student: The Faculty of the Foreign Languages, Tomsk State Pedagogical Institute (Russia). Official Degree: Teacher of German, English and French (Honours Diploma);

    Education program included: Pedagogics and Psychology; Oral and Written Practice of German, English and French; General Linguistics, Theoretical Courses of German Grammar, Phonetics and Lexicology, History of German Language, etc. During the education time I took part in field work collecting materials on Ket language - one of the Siberian aboriginal languages.

    1977-1982 Post-Graduate Courses: The Department of General, Comparative-Historical and Typological Linguistics, The Moscow State University, Russia.

    Educational program included: Latin, Ancient Greek, Sanskrit, General Information about the Structure of Chinese Language, General and Applied Linguistics, Typology, Theory of Folk-lore.

    1983 The support of doctoral thesis (in the field of Contrastive Semantics and Lexicology of German and Russian) in Moscow State Lomonossov-University. The academic degree „Kandidat filologicheskih nauk" is awarded on July 27 1983.

    1985 2 month courses in the Moscow State University studying the intensive methods

    of teaching foreign languages.

    1992-1993 2 month research work in the Berlin Free University (Germany), Department of Germanic Philology.

    1994 3 month research work in Udine University (Italy), Institute for Germanic Philology.

    1994-1996 research work in Berlin Humboldt-University (Germany), Institute for Slavonic languages (Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation Fellow).

    1997 - 2 month research work in Berlin Humboldt-University (Germany), Institute for Slavonic languages.

    1998 habilitation in Moscow State Lomonossov-University, the subject of the dissertation is „Problem of interlingual equivalence in the sphere of lexical semantics".

    1998 - present Professor: Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Department of General and Germanic Linguistics.
    1994 - 1998 1994 - 1998 Dotsent: Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Faculty of Foreign Languages, German Department.

    Responsibilities: lectures on General Linguistics, Lexicology of German, Comparative Typology of Russian, German, English and other languages, research work in the field of Contrastive Semantics, Lexicology, Typology and General Linguistics, tutoring students in their research work.

    1994 - 1996 Scholarship holder of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation: Berlin Humboldt-University, Institute for Slavonic languages.

    Responsibilities: lectures on Russian Lexicology, seminar in Contrastive Lexicology of Russian, and German, research work in the field of Contrastive Semantics, Lexicology and Typology.

    1984 - 1994 Dotsent: Tomsk State Pedagogical Institute, Faculty of Foreign Languages, German Department.

    Responsibilities: lectures on Lexicology of German, Comparative Typology of Russian, German English and other languages, Intensive Methods of teaching foreign languages; research work in the field of Contrastive Semantics on the basis of the languages of the similar and different types.
