| Education and scholarly career: 1971-1976 Student: The Faculty
of the Foreign Languages, Tomsk State Pedagogical Institute (Russia). Official Degree:
Teacher of German, English and French (Honours Diploma);
Education program included: Pedagogics and Psychology; Oral and Written Practice of
German, English and French; General Linguistics, Theoretical Courses of German Grammar,
Phonetics and Lexicology, History of German Language, etc. During the education time I
took part in field work collecting materials on Ket language - one of the Siberian
aboriginal languages.
1977-1982 Post-Graduate Courses: The Department of General,
Comparative-Historical and Typological Linguistics, The Moscow State University, Russia.
Educational program included: Latin, Ancient Greek, Sanskrit, General Information about
the Structure of Chinese Language, General and Applied Linguistics, Typology, Theory of
Folk-lore.
1983 The support of doctoral thesis (in the field of Contrastive Semantics and
Lexicology of German and Russian) in Moscow State Lomonossov-University. The academic
degree Kandidat filologicheskih nauk" is awarded on July 27 1983.
1985 2 month courses in the Moscow State University studying the intensive methods
of teaching foreign languages.
1992-1993 2 month research work in the Berlin Free University (Germany), Department of
Germanic Philology.
1994 3 month research work in Udine University (Italy), Institute for Germanic
Philology.
1994-1996 research work in Berlin Humboldt-University (Germany), Institute for Slavonic
languages (Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation Fellow).
1997 - 2 month research work in Berlin Humboldt-University (Germany), Institute for
Slavonic languages.
1998 habilitation in Moscow State Lomonossov-University, the subject of the
dissertation is Problem of interlingual equivalence in the sphere of lexical
